to absent friends…

a festival of storytelling and reminiscence celebrating loved ones who have died

Sunday 2 November, 2 - 4pm

Meet on the beach below Portobello Community Garden (John Street)

Action Porty with Life Celebrant, Loretta Dunn, will host this annual festival of storytelling and reminiscence celebrating the lives of our loved ones who have died.

This year there will be a central campfire, around which all are welcome to join us and share photos and stories of their loved ones. Participants can also sit around their own mini-campfires, however, as we did not get funding to run this year's event, we are unable to provide mini campfires for free (as in previous years).

If you would like your own campfire to sit at separate from the central campfire, please pre-order one here by midnight on Sunday 26th October.

We are extremely grateful for any donations to help cover the costs of running this year's or future events. We can take donations by cash or card on the day or you can donate online via card payment here

The event remains free to attend as it is subsidised by Action Porty, in recognition of the important compassionate role this festival plays in the community.

The event is free to attend but ticketed to allow us to prepare for numbers attending. Tea & coffee provided.

Come along to Bellfield’s Large Hall on Fridays at 10am-12:30pm for our weekly volunteer-run Community Café. Meet new people, connect with other friendly faces, learn new skills and, of course, have some tasty nibbles. The café is open to all and it’s ‘pay what you wish’ (by donation)!

We have a line-up of optional skills sharing sessions which run from 11am-12pm every week.

We look forward to seeing you at the Friday Café soon.

Please note that Bellfield hosts these events and is not the event organiser therefore events may be subject to change or cancelation which is out-with our control. If you have any queries please email our bookings team, bookings@bellfield.scot
